Why convert HEIC to JPG?
HEIC (HEIF) is the format iPhones and iPads have saved photos in since iOS 11. It keeps the same quality as JPG at roughly half the size.
Windows, many websites, government and job portals, and older Android phones can't open HEIC, which is why iPhone photos so often need converting.
Pick JPG when the file has to open everywhere: email attachments, upload forms, Windows, old software, print shops.
Frequently asked questions
Will the photo lose quality?
At the default 85% quality the difference is invisible on a phone or computer screen. Choose 95% for printing.
Why won't my iPhone photo open on Windows?
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which Windows can't open without an extra codec. Converting to JPG fixes it everywhere.
Can I convert several HEIC files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like; each one becomes its own JPG, and you can download them all as a ZIP.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. The files are never sent to a server, so nobody else can see them, and they're gone when you close the tab.
Is it really free?
Yes: no sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit and no ads. Because the work happens on your device, there are no server costs to pass on.
